Old Skool

I just got all my old tapes out of storage recently and found ones right back to Tim Ritchie’s Black Music Show from around 1986 (when I would’ve been about 12 trying hard to stay awake until 10pm on a Saturday night to record it) - all the way up to the afternoon radio shows on 2SER in the early 1990s, so couldn’t resist doing a little nostalgic mix.

Dig the old skool audio quality… http://owenlansbury.com/download/1986to1991_RaptoRave.mp3 (45Mb)

Rob Da Bank Spoken Word Session

This BBC radio show went to air in mid July and featured a bunch of spoken word artists doing their thing over the top of some great music.

Some of it’s absolutely brilliant, but was only available online for a week, so I’ve saved it for posterity here:

Samim

Excellent DJ/producer I just got exposed to via Resident Advisor. Also a prolific blogger with loads of interesting posts http://robidog.com/

Mix It Up

A great shot of some dude DJing in the 1970s I stumbled across while image hunting on Google. It looks like the turntables may be hand cranked models.

There’s some more great 70s audio stuff here.
