OK, I’m slow off the mark, but this is a cultural classic from the White House Press Corp dinner in 2006, when Bush was sitting 10 feet away from Colbert. Bold as hell, and sharp as a razor. Google video link here.
The longer the time between visits to the city, the more feral I generally become - Emma joked this morning that I should go to my next meeting how I normally dress for work while I’m at home. The latest beard started getting a bit out of hand (and bloody itchy), so I shaved it off this morning in preparation for the next city trip later this week…

One of the first things Dane said on his birthday morning was “At my next birthday I’ll be five!”. He had a great time having a slumber party in his new bedroom and the day playing with Jakey, who turns 4 in a couple of weeks too.

We roped in my Mum, Dad and Clinton who’d all come down for Dane’s birthday, and got the bulk of the furniture moved into the new house to sleep in there for the first time on Saturday night. It was amazing how dirty everything from the old house was, mainly due to it being so dark in there, so a major scrub down was needed before we could get properly settled. The excitement of getting to this point hasn’t totally sunk in yet, but it’s been like living in a 5 star hotel for the past 48 hours…
