Freshly Mixed
I treated myself to a magic little box called an Audio Kontrol 1 from Native instruments recently. It takes a USB signal out and converts it into multiple audio tracks, which when coupled with their Traktor software means you can mix up to 4 individual MP3 tracks at once with a whole arsenal of effects. It’s meant having a whole new way access into a few billion gigs of music laying dormant in hard drives.

My first recorded mix attempt of some newish deep house and tech is here (50Mb AAC). It’s even led to me buying music again from Beatport and iTunes both of whom have huge collections.
The amazing thing they’ve done is democratise music again. Back in the day if you missed out on a track at the record shop, that was it unless you did some major searching. Now you can download pretty much any classic tune.
Now to digitise all the old vinyl…
