Woke up this morning knowing full well it would be scorching hot - 28 degrees at 7am (must have been low 40s by midday), and the sound of a Nor Wester hitting the trees at the top of the mountain. Made it to the beach to find a common weather inversion - i.e the opposite of what you expected it to be - coolish and a stiffening NE onshore wind. Paddled out into some lumpy 4 footers for the hell of it, and within 15 minutes, crack, the NWer kicks in and starts trimming it. Early high tide unfortunately doesn’t suit it ideally, but scored some fun grinding left handers breaking within 15m of shore. Spent the afternoon hiding from the heat with Dane, but popped past the National Park late arvo, thinking a bombie may be working, only to find the other side of a point lining up nicely. A rare treat for those who scored it.

Firing up.

Late arvo treats if you were prepared to hike for it.
